With this information customers can have confidence in the performance of Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V on NetApp. The results of these tests including throughput and latency are detailed in this report. NetApp tested the performance of a virtual server workload over 10Gb SMB 3, 10Gb iSCSI, and 8Gb FC. In addition to traditional block protocols like Fibre Channel (FC) and iSCSI, Server Message Block (SMB) 3.0 brings file protocol storage access for the first time to data centers built with Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V on NetApp. With Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and the NetApp clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 architecture, customers have choices in shared storage design for building virtualized data centers.
